The Gods Of Zoroastrianism

Ahura Mazda
The Wise Lord is the Supreme God of Wisdom and Light of Zoroastrianism and the creator of the universe. He embodies truth, wisdom, and goodness, opposing Angra Mainyu, the force of darkness and chaos. Ahura Mazda is not typically personified but is described as an omniscient and benevolent force that upholds Asha (cosmic order and righteousness). He is served by the Amesha Spentas, divine beings who represent different aspects of creation.

Angra Mainyu (Ahriman)
The Spirit of Evil and Chaos, also known as Ahriman, is the eternal adversary of Ahura Mazda. He represents druj (falsehood, chaos, and darkness) and constantly seeks to corrupt and destroy creation. In Zoroastrian belief, the world is a battleground between Asha (truth) and Druj (deception), and Angra Mainyu will ultimately be defeated in the final battle at the end of time.

Mithra
The God of Covenant, Justice, and the Sun, is a warrior deity who fights against lies and evil forces, ensuring order and fairness. In later traditions, he became associated with solar worship, influencing the Roman cult of Mithraism. He is often depicted as a divine warrior riding a chariot across the sky.

Anahita
The Goddess of Water, Fertility, and Purity, is a beautiful, noble woman adorned with a golden crown and flowing robes, riding a chariot drawn by four white horses. She was widely worshiped as a protector of rivers and purity, and she played a key role in fertility and childbirth.

Vayu
The God of Wind, War and Warriors, has a dual nature, both benevolent and destructive, and is associated with stormy winds and battle fury. He is considered a mediator between Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu, symbolizing the forces that move between order and chaos.

Verethragna
The God of Victory, War and Heroism, is known for taking ten different animal forms, including a boar, a bull, a horse, and a falcon. Warriors and kings worshiped him as a bringer of strength and triumph in battle.

Tishtrya
The God of Rain and the Star Sirius is the white horse that fights against the demon of drought, Apaosha, in an epic battle. His victory ensures the arrival of rain, bringing fertility to the land.

Zurvan
The God of Time and Fate is a primordial god of time and destiny, worshipped in the Zurvanite sect of Zoroastrianism. Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu are twin brothers born from Zurvan, who represents an eternal and impersonal force.

Haoma
The God of Sacred Rituals and Immortality is both a divine plant and a god, representing spiritual enlightenment and longevity. The Haoma ritual involved preparing a sacred drink that granted wisdom, strength, and divine favor. He is associated with purification and divine blessings.
